U praktičnom dijelu ljetne škole, imala je priliku sudjelovati u radionicama renomiranih dramskih i kazališnih stručnjaka, poput glumca Alija de Souze, dramatičarki Nicole McCartney i Rone Munro, dramaturginje Louise Stephens i glumca i Tima Licate. Osim seminara, na ljetnoj su školi predavanja održali uvaženi znanstvenici Alan Riach, Robert i Penny Fielding. Kulturni program ljetne škole sastojao se od autorskih čitanja i performansa romanopisca Jamesa Robertsona i dramatičarki Jo Clifford i Isle Cowan, književne šetnje s pjesnikinjom Ionom Lee te organiziranim posjetima kazališnom festivalu Edinburgh International Festival na predstave The Outrun i Hamlet. Naša je suradnica u potpunosti iskoristila živahni kazališni krajolik grada posjetivši više od petnaest predstava festivala Fringe i festivalu Edinburgh International Festival, primjerice postavljanja drama Keirana Hurleyja (VL), Davida Greiga (Dunsinane), Adama Rappa (The Sound Inside), Marka Ravenhilla (Pool (No Water)), Joanne Ryan (In Two Minds) i brojnih drugih.
This summer, Iris Spajić, a member of our #hrzz project, participated in two summer schools in Scotland and Slovenia. From July 5 to August 17, she took part in the Scottish Universities International Summer School in Edinburgh, where she attended the Contemporary British and Irish Theatre and Performance program. In this program, seminars were held to discuss the plays and performances of numerous contemporary authors (Gregory Burke, Jo Clifford, Brian Friel, David Greig, Tanika Gupta, Kieran Hurley, Nicola McCartney, John McGrath, Rona Munro, and May Sumbwanyambe), as well as various exercises and activities designed for critical reflection and engagement with different aspects of dramatic and theatrical analysis. In the practical part of the summer school, she had the opportunity to participate in workshops with renowned drama and theatre professionals, such as actor Ali de Souza, playwrights Nicola McCartney and Rona Munro, dramaturg Louise Stephens, and actor Tim Licata. In addition to the seminars, lectures were delivered by distinguished scholars Alan Riach and Robert and Penny Fielding. The cultural program of the summer school included readings and performances by novelist James Robertson and playwrights Jo Clifford and Isla Cowan, a literary walk with poet Iona Lee, and organized visits to the Edinburgh International Festival to see productions like The Outrun and Hamlet. Our colleague fully immersed herself in the city’s vibrant theatre scene, attending more than fifteen productions at the Fringe Festival and Edinburgh International Festival, including works by Kieran Hurley (VL), David Greig (Dunsinane), Adam Rapp (The Sound Inside), Mark Ravenhill (Pool (No Water)), Joanne Ryan (In Two Minds), and many others. The summer school Sexual Desire Unbound: Literature, Landscapes, and Digital Dialogues was held in Ljubljana from August 27 to September 2, where our member participated in seminars and lectures focused on digital humanities and literary tourism. Since her primary field of study was digital humanities, she attended lectures and workshops led by Katja Mihurko, Marie-Louise Coolahan, Darko Ilin, Carmen Beatrice Duțu, Roxana Patraș, and Lucija Mandić. Her group was tasked with proposing a project that combines literature and digital humanities. They chose the topic “Mapping of Queerness and Violence”, using topic modeling as their primary method, followed by close reading. As part of the literary walk in Gorizia, participants explored locations where notable women lived, created, or spent their final days, producing engaging tourism promotional materials using digital tools. The cultural program of the summer school was enriched by a conversation with contemporary Slovenian playwright Tjaša Črnigoj, who spoke about performance and sexuality, as well as discussions with contemporary writer and translator Suzana Tratnik and promising young poet Pino Pograjc.

Unsere Kollegin nutzte die lebhafte Theaterszene der Stadt in vollem Umfang und besuchte mehr als fünfzehn Aufführungen beim Fringe Festival und beim Edinburgh International Festival, darunter Werke von Kieran Hurley (VL), David Greig (Dunsinane), Adam Rapp (The Sound Inside), Mark Ravenhill (Pool (No Water)), Joanne Ryan (In Two Minds) und vielen anderen.Die Sommerschule Sexual Desire Unbound: Literature, Landscapes and Digital Dialogues fand vom 27. August bis zum 2. September in Ljubljana statt.
